What to do on the first day of Injury
First and foremost, for life threatening injuries call 911 immediately and obtain emergency treatment. Paperwork can be handled at a future time. See "What should I do if my employee has a job-related injury" tab.
If your employee(s) are hourly, please ensure that they receive a full day of pay on the first day of injury (even if they only worked 4 hours out of their shift and spent 4 hours at the clinic).
Ensure that your employee returns a Work Status Form or Medical Note to you either the same day or next.

How do I use EFR ( Employers First Report of Injury)
Employer's First Report (EFR)
Employer's First Report (EFR) is an online incident management application that allows supervisors, administrators and department representatives to submit, monitor and report initial injury causes, as well as verify corrective actions taken to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
If you have questions or require assistance with completing EFR, please contact the Workers' Compensation office or call (951) 827-5528.
Anyone can report a work related injury or illness using EFR: supervisors, co-workers, and individuals.
